Scrapbookers Bubble Bath
Helping you leave a legacy Unto All Generations
Frequently Asked Questions
How in the world did you come up with the name Scrapbookers Bubble Bath?
As my dad and I discussed the site organization, it was very important to me that the site be user friendly. I wanted it to be easy to the eye and brain and, a relaxing web site to visit with helpful information and products. My dad said "you want kinda like a bubble bath" and, it stuck!
Since that time, the name and this site has, and, continues to evolve as the Lord leads, and, is becoming a work of His miraculous work.
What made you create the books and start Scrapbookers Bubble Bath?
OK-being honest here. I started Unto All Generations in 2002. I never really believed it would make it to a real book. It was for me and a few dear friends. However, when I told one of my friends about the book, she was very excited, and, has been the motivation I needed to complete it and take it to the public.
As I dreamed of getting the book to the internet, I wanted to create not only the Unto All Generations for scrappers to use at their side, but, I wanted to provide a place for them to continue to get new inspiration and ideas. So, Scrapbookers Bubble Bath was born, then came Faithbooking Inspirations, and, now most recently, Christian Scrapbooking.
I have dreamed of providing a place for others to visit to find ideas, encouragement, and, create albums full of faith, love and legacy. Daily I am humbled by the Lord's intervention and will continue to strive to create sites for you and your legacy for eternity.
Do you have plans to release more in the Unto All Generations Series?
The short answer is 'yes'. I am currently working on 2 more Volumes, and, I'm unsure which one will be released first. I'm excited about both of them, so I'm having a hard time choosing. :~) Volume IV is due to be completed for Christmas, 2008. If you have any suggestions or comments for the next book, just let me know ~ these are for you and your legacy.
How can stampers use Unto All Generations?
Since Unto All Generations is categorized in subjects such as birthday, wedding, and tribute, stampers can use it as a reference as they create cards and gifts. Once an appropriate scripture has been found, a coordinating stamp can be used to make the card or gift crafting a meaningful and unique creation.
Why did you choose to sell the books as e-books and CDs instead of sending them to a publisher?
As the first book neared completion, much thought and time was expended to decide how it should be made available to others that would enjoy it. While it was an option for the final product to go to a publisher and be bound, published, and sold, I chose to make it available on line. I believed it would reach more scrapbookers and stampers on-line as opposed to being on the bookshelves. Plus, we were able to provide the books at a much more cost friendly price by offering the books in these formats. And, now I can say that I would not have changed the experience with my dad for anything in the world.
As the books have been sold as downloads, it has been wonderful to hear the many ways they have been used for more than just scrapbooking. Some have set Volumes I & II on their coffee tables, put Volume III in their car for long rides, and been able to make another copy when then spilled coffee on their first print. :~)
Aren't you concerned that people are going to pass on the books and products for free to their friends?
Well, yes, but, while we know that is a very likely situation, we believed our mission would still be best accomplished if our products were on-line. To be honest, the thought of more scripture and words being included in albums for generations to come is what excites me and drives me to create and write more. If we loose dollars, based on a few people's dishonesty, but our mission is being realized, we will still be blessed. We have faith in people to believe that if our products are affordable and easily attainable, the frequency of passing on the files will be minimal.
What if I don't like the downloads, I have dial-up, which takes forever, or, don't have a quality printer?
We have created the products printed on CDs, and soon will be available printed in high quality folders. We can forward them to you. If you have any questions or comments, just call or email us, and we will help you!
What exactly is faithbooking?
I think the use of the word "faithbooking" was stimulated by Rhonda Anderson, the co-founder of Creative Memories. It is including your stories of faith in your scrapbooking albums. These stories are those of how your faith has carried you, blessed you, and impacted you. You can also include scripture, prayers and hymns. It takes your pictures and words to the next level of leaving a legacy. Faithbooking makes your albums so much more meaningful as these precious stories and words of faith are included.
So then, what is the difference between legacybooking and faithbooking?
I started using the word legacybooking when I began working on some pictures from my husband's grandmother who was his rock when he was growing up. The stories were wonderful, but, I wanted to capture her legacy ~ everything she was leaving as she left this earth. So, while I journaled her words of prayer for tomorrow (faithbooking) and her favorite memories with her sister (scrapbooking), I also included her strawberry jam recipe that I now make every year (legacybooking).
I want my children to know that my passion for the wonder of God's creation came from my grandmother who took me to feed the ducks as a child. I am passing on that passion, and, they are receiving it is from my grandmother and their great-grandmother: That was part of her legacy.
**Our legacy is what we leave, and how we impact, future generations. If we don't include those details in our albums, they will not be passed on.
